Is vaccination for my dog necessary?
It is challenging to treat viruses, and that’s why pet immunisation is important. A vaccinated dog rarely contracts an infectious disease, unlike humans. All major illnesses (some of which are fatal) dogs can contract in New Zealand can be prevented with immunisation. Fortunately, safe, effective immunisations are available at Beach Road Vet. By immunising dogs, we are saving lives daily.
What services does your veterinary clinic offer?
We have been a leading veterinary clinic since 1995. Beach Road Vet offers general pet veterinary clinic services such as vaccinations, medical check-ups, microchipping, and emergency surgeries.
My pet underwent surgery. What should I look out for with the wound?
The wound must be dry, clean, and free of any discharge. It should be comfortable to the touch and warm but not scorching. There will be a tiny bit of swelling, but not enough to cause the skin around the sutures to expand.
Instead of beet red, the area around the sutures should be pink. Don’t let your pet lick any wounds. If you have any queries or concerns regarding the incision, please contact or schedule an appointment to come in.
Do you offer post-operation check-ups?
At our pet veterinary clinic, we schedule a free post-operation check after any surgical procedure to ensure progress is as expected. Stitch removal is also free of charge (unless sedation is required).
What is microchipping?
A microchip is a tiny electronic part that can be used to identify your pet since it has a unique pre-programmed number. The chip may be implanted directly in your cat or dog at the veterinary clinic without anaesthesia and is placed only beneath the skin.
Although it is required by law, having your dog microchipped also protects you and your pet in case of an ownership dispute, injury, or loss.
